Avi Snyder
European Director of Jews for Jesus
Avi Snyder is European Director of Jews for Jesus. In addition to directing the work in Europe, he oversees the ministry's outreach among post-Soviet Jews worldwide. On staff with Jews for Jesus since 1978, Avi received his theological training at the Fuller School of World Missions, graduating with a masters degree in missiology with concentration in Jewish Evangelism/Jewish Studies. Avi and his wife, Ruth, along with their three children, moved to the Ukraine in 1991 to pioneer the Jews for Jesus work there. Though planned months in advance, the actual move came on the heels of the major transition which the former Soviet Union has undergone, giving much more freedom to communicate the gospel. When the Russia and Ukraine branches of Jews for Jesus became fully indigenized in 1998, Avi and his family returned to the United States. Currently he lives in Germany where he oversees the work in Germany as well as in the rest of Europe. Avi is a prolific writer of gospel tracts, and continues to minister and disciple new believers as a part of his work.
