Wedding Ceremony

A woman asked Rabbi Yossi ben Halafta: "How many days did it take the Lord to create the world?" He answered, "Six." "And, since then, what has He been doing?" The reply came: "Making marriages."

Whether it's the joy of standing under the chuppah with all the accompanying ceremonies of the wedding, the challenges that marriage and children bring, or the special concerns of intermarried couples, marriage has always been central to Jewish life. In this section you can read about marriage from a messianic Jewish point of view.

And while you're looking over the selections we've included, here is a question to ponder: if, as the Bible indicates, marriage is a spiritual union, created by God, is it possible to really understand or succeed at it apart from him? Read the stories of people whose commitment to God enables them to keep their commitments to one another.
