I hate exams.
I've been rated since the day I was born. It began with pre-school applications, then kindergarten appraisals.
It continued all throughout my elementary school and high school years, and then into college.
Just when I thought I was through with them, they raised their ugly head again with job performance reviews at work...
The following article is from our publication, ISSUES, from over a decade ago. It deals with oppression and victimization of a minority. In our case, this would be the Jewish people, but there are ties to related groups within the text. In light of current supreme court activity, this question seems to have resurfaced: "Past Oppression, Present Excuse?"
You probably have heard of the Passover connection to Easter, that the Last Supper was a seder, etc. But do you know about the Rosh Hashanah connection?
Reminded of past atrocities against our Jewish people during the Passover/Easter season, can we look past that and see the truth that persecution has obstructed?
In Bible times, this holiday was an agricultural festival-a time for our people to present the firstfruits of the crops to God, gratefully giving back to the Lord that which He had given to us.
