Campers participate in swimming, horseback riding, Tabernacle (Bible lessons), field trips, Hebrew (ranging from those who don't know the alphabet at all to those who can speak it), campfires, sports, marching in an old-fashioned Fourth of July parade in the historic gold mining town of Columbia, crafts, fun games, and some special surprises. This will be our 23nd season of junior camp and our 21st season at this facility. We have a high staff to camper ratio which provides a safe and nurturing environment. Nearly all our staff have grown up in our Camp Gilgal program. Transportation is available from Los Angeles for those in Southern California, Las Vegas, Arizona and other locations.
Teen camp was established in 1994 after our junior campers began to panic about being too old to attend Camp Gilgal. They signed and presented a petition, so we started a new camp for them. It's an exciting week full of activities including swimming, boating, an adventure in Yosemite National Park, Tabernacle (Bible lessons), a ropes course, wall climbing, campfires, fun games and more. Many of our campers have developed leadership skills through the opportunities made available to them there. Transportation is available from Los Angeles.
Our campers wanted to keep going after outgrowing teen camp, so in 1999 we began adventure camp. This year we'll be house boating on beautiful Lake Shasta. We'll have an incredible amount of fun exploring, relaxing, spending time with God in worship, prayer and in Scripture, and simply just being together. Oh, we'll also get to cook our own meals (each of the house boats has a kitchen and a barbeque). Part of the adventure is deciding what we want to do on the way to and from Lake Shasta and on the lake itself! Transportation is available from Los Angeles.
We began Camp Gilgal WWW in 1999 so our campers could have a chance to get together between summer camps, and our prospective campers could have an opportunity to "test drive" Camp Gilgal. The weekends start with a Shabbat dinner on Friday evening and end with lunch on Sunday. In between is some major fun and spiritual encouragement. It's like summer camp without the mosquitoes! Because California is huge, we have two weekend camps: one in Southern California (Mile High Pines in Angelus Oaks) and one in Northern California (Dream Mountain Christian Camp in Murphys).
We look forward to joining teen camp with Camp Gilgal East again this year. With all the games, the swimming, and times with the Lord in Tabernacle and outdoors, come prepared to have an amazing time. Top it all off with a camping trip in the Adirondacks and a day of white water rafting. Teen camp is a great chance to get away with other young Jewish believers to have tons of fun and grow spiritually. Come join us for the week! Transportation is available from Chicago.
Join us for an exciting wilderness canoeing adventure trip. Together with East adventure camp, we'll enjoy the beauty of God's creation in this all-out trip where we will travel with everything we need and cook all our own food. Time in God's creation away from life's normal distractions helps us focus on God's plan for our lives and grow closer to Him and to each other. Get ready for a challenging and rewarding week both physically and spiritually – and for loads of fun. Come spend the week with us! Trip begins and ends in Chicago.
This is a great weekend for having fun and learning more about Y'shua. Veteran campers can see their old friends and make new ones, while new campers get a great introduction to the Camp Gilgal program through this short but action-packed weekend of fun. Old or new, you're sure to leave with some lasting memories! The weekend starts with Shabbat dinner Friday and ends with lunch Sunday. Be sure to bring warm clothes, a sleeping bag, and Bible.
During these two weeks campers enjoy all that our facilities have to offer, including archery, crafts, field sports, swimming, and campfires. They also go on camp trips such as horseback riding, as well as learn Hebrew and more about the Bible in their tribes and during Tabernacle. Junior camp is always full of surprises! It's packed full of fun, a chance for campers to really take ownership of their faith in Y'shua, and an opportunity to make friendships that last a lifetime. Transportation is available from NYC, NJ and (hopefully!) DC.
Campers spend a week with other young Jewish believers playing games, swimming, spending time outdoors and in Tabernacle. We head up into the Adirondacks for an overnight camping trip (that means tents!) and a day of white water rafting! As well as being tons of fun, camp is an opportunity for amazing spiritual growth. Take a week this summer to grow with us. We have the same transportation options (and hopes!) as junior camp.
This summer we're returning to our favorite adventure trip – wilderness canoeing! We'll be in a new region with new friends – Midwest adventure camp is joining us! Together we'll enjoy the beauty of God's creation in this all-out trip where we will travel with everything we need and cook all our own food. Spending time away from the distractions of home can help us gain perspective about who we are in relation to God's plan for our lives. Be prepared for a challenging and rewarding week both physically and spiritually – and also a lot of fun. Don't miss out! Trip begins and ends in New York City.
It all starts with a Shabbat dinner on Friday evening. It ends with lunch on Sunday. In between those times, this weekend is full of action-packed fun and learning more about Y'shua. It's a great chance for old campers to see their camp friends during the year, as well as for new campers to check out Camp Gilgal and make friends that can last for the rest of their lives. Bring a sleeping bag and a Bible, and make sure to dress warm!
