Arutz Sheva Apologizes and Retracts Statements About Jews for Jesus and the Holocaust
ARUTZ SHEVA APOLOGIZES AND SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT: JEWS FOR JESUS NEVER SAID REJECTION OF JESUS CAUSED THE HOLOCAUST

One of the lead stories on April 25 from Arutz Sheva, a daily electronic Israeli news service, falsely accused Jews for Jesus of stating the following on its website: "... that the Jews are to blame for the persecution they have experienced over the generations, and especially for the Holocaust because of their rejection of Jesus."

"Not only is the above statement not on our website, the sentiments expressed are simply untrue,"

said Dan Sered, Israel director of Jews for Jesus.

In a letter from its attorneys to the news service, Jews for Jesus pointed out that these were false allegations, and on May 11, Arutz Sheva reprinted the article and changed the original sentence to read as follows:

The organization [JFJ] states, however, that it strongly rejects views that were attributed to it in the Israeli media that the Jews are to blame for the persecution they have experienced over the generations, and especially for the Holocaust, because of their rejection of Jesus. Arutz Sheva, which previously reported those claims, apologizes for any misunderstanding.

Arutz Sheva also removed from the article its erroneous claim that this is the first time a major Israeli newspaper has taken Jews for Jesus ads.

David Brickner, executive director of Jews for Jesus, said,

"We are grateful for the retraction and apology, and that those who believe the Torah agree that truth should always triumph over any other consideration in the reporting of the news."

Here is the revised article.
